
Osman, who owns a repair shop, is preparing for his wedding with his girlfriend Hülya. With the help of the whole neighborhood, he prepares his house. However, on the day of the wedding, Hülya has an accident and loses her life. Unable to accept Hülya's death, Osman waits for her to come every day. He closes his shop and spends his time at the tavern. One night at the tavern, he encounters a young girl who has run away from home. He helps this girl, whose name is Mine, and takes her into his home. Mine will change Osman's life.
Directed by Zafer Davutoğlu, Akşamcı leans on a strong ensemble — Sadri Alışık, Hülya Aşan, Kuzey Vargın — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about romance titles of 1968.
