About The Death of Dottie Love
Based on the true stories of 3 people who where murdered in Bangor, Maine in the 1980's. Charlie Howard (who was also the inspiration for Stephen King's book "IT".) a gay man who was beaten and thrown off a bridge, Sherri, who was stabbed to death by her boyfriend, and Dottie Love a prostitute who arrived in Bangor and disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
Directed by Todd Verow, The Death of Dottie Love leans on a strong ensemble — Jennifer M. Gentile, Susan Becker, Michelle N. — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about horror titles of 1990.
