About Panienka z poste restante
Marysia, a postal clerk, travels to Vienna to work as Mr. Olszewicz's secretary as a result of a distorted telegram. Their first joint venture is to sign a contract with American industrialist Smith, pretending to be a young married couple. He takes them to his yacht in Dubrovnik, where he refuses to sign the contract, having guessed the deception and feeling cheated.
Directed by Michał Waszyński, Jan Nowina-Przybylski, Panienka z poste restante leans on a strong ensemble — Aleksander Żabczyński, Alma Kar, Michał Znicz — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1935.
