Peter North is a private Dick working L.A.'s mean streets, those fabled boulevards that snake through Tinsel Town like so many gilded paths to hell. He had life beat, once. Look especially for Chloe and big Pete's standout anal bout, and the Asia-Lené sapphic showdown. Also of note is Lené and Peter's otherworldly coital contact. Smoldering all the way through, and a great choice for couples.

Directed by Michael Zen, Bawdy and Soul leans on a strong ensemble — Asia Carrera, Chloe Nicole, Holli Woods — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1998.
