
Bernard and his sister Eloisa live in a ramshackle house, the rest of their ancient past and prosperity. They are waiting for their old and sick Aunt Lina to die, to inherit her vast fortune and meanwhile have a morbid existence, full of obsessions and manias.
Directed by Bigas Luna, Poodle leans on a strong ensemble — Àngel Jové, Consol Tura, Linda Pérez Gallardo — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1979.
