About The Wounded Wolf
The film tells the story of a hitman exacting his revenge on the people who deceived him. Recently released from jail, Ali takes up work from strangers so that he can afford to go to Germany. He kills a divisive loan shark in exchange for some money and a passport. But, the money turns out to be counterfeit. So, Ali starts to search for the men who cheated him. In the meantime, he grows close to Gül, the daughter of the man he killed. This relationship, however, will make Ali feel some unfamiliar emotions.
Directed by Lütfi Akad, The Wounded Wolf leans on a strong ensemble — Cüneyt Arkın, Ahmet Mekin, Şükran Yamakoğlu — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about crime titles of 1972.
