The film is based on the events of Rasim (Rasim Jafarov), a literature teacher who came to Baku from the village to become a movie director. There he meets Leyla, a beautiful woman who he falls in love with. She calls him Fellini in honor of Italian film director Federico Fellini.
Directed by Javid Tavakkul, My Dear Fellini leans on a strong ensemble — Rasim Jafar, Tunay Aliyeva, Abbas Qahramanov — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
