All the negatives of everyday life and lack of money fall on Nyurgun, the hero simply drowns in a bunch of everyday problems. The main character does not have a truly close person who could lend him a helping hand. On the one hand, Nyurgun gets what he deserves, but in fact he is a good, kind fellow. And he has the most precious thing — his children, who become the salvation for the hero.
Directed by Sergey Potapov, Coin leans on a strong ensemble — Nyurguyana Shadrina, Innokenty Dakayarov, Peter Kornilov — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2006.
