The Kick

Korean family made up of taekwondo experts moves to Thailand, where they set up a taekwondo gym. However, one member of the family, Taeju, wants to become a famous pop singer instead. The family becomes famous after stopping treasure robbers.

Directed by Prachya Pinkaew, The Kick leans on a strong ensemble — Cho Jae-hyun, Ye Ji-won, Na Tae-joo — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2011.
