Set in Osaka, Oishi finds himself gay because he couldn't sleep with Kaori, the girl he was dating when he was in high school. Now he is secretely in love with his colleague but that guy is straight. One day he meets a man who claims sleeping with him will give better luck. His popularity does start increasing as he continues his manzai comedy work. However, his colleague wants to quit comedy and marry Kaori since the two were secretely dating.
Directed by Yuzuru Kenzaki, Nonke II: Shiawase ni narô ya! leans on a strong ensemble — Teruhiko Saga, Masahiro Morisaki, Jun Imai — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2003.
