Dos Ilusiones

Heriberto (Matías Santoiani) dreams of becoming an actor. He wins a contest to work on a film and leaves his small town for Buenos Aires. There he meets Cynthia (Claudia Albertario), the other winner, who will be his co-star in the film, and with whom he falls in love. But the contest turns out to be a scam for pornographic purposes. This failure depresses Cynthia, and Heriberto, still in love with her, tries to help her, but she leaves him and takes his savings.

Directed by Martin Lobo, Dos Ilusiones leans on a strong ensemble — Matías Santoianni, Claudia Albertario, Gerardo Romano — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2004.
