Jeu d’enfant

At dawn, Catherine follows her father in the wood. Under his command she works. Forced by the family heritage, she is tired by injustices. With immature mischiefs, she yells her misfortune to the face of an overwhelmed father. This little girl’s fierceness and bad temper will lead the discovery her true being. Thinking of herself as invincible, she will soon be alone, left at the mercy of her fears.

Directed by Émilie Lemay-Perreault, Jeu d’enfant leans on a strong ensemble — Catherine Lamarre, Pierre Rivard, Béatrice Richard — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2014.
