About Youth with Us
Kolosov, a former oil refinery technologist, is appointed director of the research institute, which has long been estranged from real production. The new director energetically takes up the task, and somehow does not pay much attention to the fact that the scientific staff of the institute, headed by Professor Serafima Shuvalova, begins to group against him.
Directed by Oleg Bondarev, Youth with Us leans on a strong ensemble — Nikolay Eryomenko, Irina Skobtseva, Yevgeniya Sabelnikova — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1979.
