Yukka

Andrei, a failed artist, lived quietly in the shadow of his twin brother, a successful businessman, as long as he was alive. After the contract killing has taken place, he hides Ksenia, his brother’s distraught widow, and his children in a country house. However, the crime boss nicknamed the Poet continues to terrorize the unfortunate family here. At some point, Andrei begins to realize that he is absolutely helpless in front of the mafia, and only the children continue to believe that their father is alive and somewhere very close. An extremely difficult situation is resolved, in fact, by Ksenia herself...

Directed by Mikhail Tumanishvili, Yuriy Berdnikov, Yukka leans on a strong ensemble — Igor Bochkin, Elena Yakovleva, Boris Shcherbakov — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about action titles of 1998.
