About Yas and Yanina
A student construction brigade builds a new farm by day and performs as an amateur band at meals and local events. When equestrian coach Yanina arrives, pilot Yasia falls for her, and choir leader Danila recruits Yanina (and others like Clara) into the folk choir, weaving music, romance, and community spirit throughout the settlement.
Directed by Yuri Tsvetkov, Yas and Yanina leans on a strong ensemble — Leonid Bortkevich, Alexander Demeshko, Anatoly Kasheparov — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about romance titles of 1974.
