The only land on the earth in the future, in Wuji City, experienced a lack of supplies after a pirate fleet's raid. Marine policeman Luo Li led the expedition to search for a new continent. After passing through the dangerous seas, he was helped by the female pirate Hai Ji. After going through the dangerous battle between the huge water monster and the pirate king, he re-embarks on the journey of finding a new land.
Directed by He Jia Nan, The Warlord of the Sea leans on a strong ensemble — Zheng Yibin, Liu Meitong, Shao Shuai — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about fantasy titles of 2021.
