About Love of Sawako
Sawako, working in a bank, tired of the usual everyday life, once she met the chef of French cuisine Yukio Goto and spent the night with him. Sawako pretends to be the daughter of an upscale hotel owner and has an affair with Yukio.
Directed by Ryuichi Hiroki, Love of Sawako leans on a strong ensemble — Keiko Saitō, Masanori Ikeda, Léona Hirota — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1990.
