About The Heroic Victim
Chiang May-Yin (Tu Kuei-Hua), is fired from her job as a waitress and, n the way home, she is terrorised by some thugs, raped and left unconscious on the roadside. After a series of confrontations, the leader of the gang, Ah-Chen (Lung Tien-Hsiang), kidnaps Chiang’s son. Chiang sets out for revenge.
Directed by Wu Chia-Chun, The Heroic Victim leans on a strong ensemble — Tu Kuei-Hua, Lung Tien-hsiang, Pai Ying — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about action titles of 1990.
