About Les Vacances de l'apprenti
The former teammate of the famous Inspector Tahar, "the Apprentice" turned Inspector Yahia, will conduct his final investigation in the city of Bejaia, but the surprise at the end is unexpected. Released in 1999, this feature film is dedicated to the late actor Hadj Abderrahmane, who played Inspector Tahar in the 1960s and 1970s.
Directed by Benamar Bakhti, Les Vacances de l'apprenti leans on a strong ensemble — Yahia Benmabrouk, Smail "Zabata" Laissaoui, Biyouna — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1999.
