About Sweet King
"Takehiko Kanroji, notorious for a man of power harassment, an executive officer of the publishing company "Yudansha" has been transferred from Nagoya to the Tokyo head office. His mission is starting a magazine. However, the theme is ""sweets"" that Kanroji hates most. Even so, he tries to tackle the given work with all his heart, but his subordinates fed up with his overbearing attitude.
Directed by Kazuhiro Onohara, Sweet King leans on a strong ensemble — Riki Takeuchi, Ruka Matsuda, Ryuji Harada — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2022.
