Flask

The story of two marginalized beings, an old alcoholic and a mute boy, who meet stealing on the streets of San Francisco. The friendship that arises between the two will make the man stop drinking and go back to practicing the forgotten martial arts. Frank, the mute boy, will become his student and executing arm to help him avenge the murderer of his entire family at the hands of the mafia.

Directed by Frank Navarro, Flask leans on a strong ensemble — Ralph Castellanos, Frank Navarro — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about action titles of 1988.
