About That's My Line
The first in RKO Pathe's series of "Traveling Salesman Comedies" has Louis John Bartels traveling to Mexico to sell his line of underwear. He garners the attention of a fair senorita which does not set well with the chief of a gang of bandits, and Bartels is soon seeking the USA/Mexico borderline.
Directed by Roscoe Arbuckle, That's My Line leans on a strong ensemble — Louis John Bartels, Paul Hurst, Doris McMahon — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1931.
