










Rebekka (Jacobsen) is in a loveless marriage, and leaves her husband for the author Sigurd Winge (Mjøen). Also this relationship runs into problems, however, because of Winge's uncontrollable jealousy.
Directed by Rolf Randall, Den evige Eva leans on a strong ensemble — Astri Jacobsen, Fridtjof Mjøen, Børseth Rasmussen — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1953.
