This time Lupus is played by the author Hilman himself. Still depicting the world of teenagers at school, home and also his relationship with Poppy (Ita Purnamasari). Everything is cheerful, a little wild but still under control. Lupus himself is not clear what he is doing, except busy taking care of his chickens. Suddenly near the end of the film, Lupus is good at giving speeches about many things including democracy and social justice.
Directed by Edi Siswanto, Lupus 3 (Topi-topi Centil) leans on a strong ensemble — Hilman Hariwijaya, Ita Purnamasari, Rima Melati — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1989.
