Dina Sfat plays Carlos Dolabella's romantic partner in a fictional soap opera that fascinates the daughter and wife of a simple country man, played by Jofre Soares. After receiving a TV set, Soares begins to doubt his traditional knowledge of weather forecasts and begins to worry about the end of the world due to the oil crisis and pollution.
Directed by Antunes Filho, Cordiais Saudações, Mr. Kissinger leans on a strong ensemble — Jofre Soares, Henrique Lisboa, Carlos Koppa — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about tv movie titles of 1976.
