Emuthi Puthi

A rebellious teenager Ritika needs money to escape home while her eccentric granny Makhoni wants to travel 500 kilometres in search of a mythical fish for a perfect exit from the world. Both elope together from home one night, chased by one very harried policewoman - Makhoni's daughter and Ritika's mother, Indira.

Directed by Kulanandini Mahanta, Emuthi Puthi leans on a strong ensemble — Neetali Das, Kenny Basumatary, Pratibha Chaudhary — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2022.
