Colonel Mikhail Loginov arrives to take command of a military base in a seaside town, bringing his wife Svetlana with him. Their arrival upsets the peaceful, stable existence of border detachment leader Aleksey Streltsov. Twenty years ago, the very same Svetlana left him without giving any reason.
