Public Eye is a British television drama broadcast from 1965 to 1975 on ITV1. Produced by ABC Television for three series, and Thames Television for a further four, the programme follows the investigations and cases handled by the unglamourous enquiry agent Frank Marker.
Directed by Roger Marshall, Anthony Marriott, Public Eye leans on a strong ensemble — Alfred Burke — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The series landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about crime titles of 1965.
