Overnight, nothing changes for Leonie and Tom Sauter: their four-year-old daughter Salomé has vanished without a trace. When a ransom demand arrives, the extortionist turns out to be an opportunist who has nothing to do with the kidnapping – but the man is fatally hit by a train during the money exchange. Tom, now suspected of murder, decides to flee. Together with private investigator Lüthi and journalist Ulla Merz, the Sauters try to find Salomé.
Directed by Claude Cueni, Annemarie Cueni, In Search of Salomè leans on a strong ensemble — Stefan Witschi, Carin C. Tietze, Fabienne Riklin — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The series landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about mystery titles of 1991.
