About Billy Webb's Amazing Story
Billy Webb returns to recount strange happenings to journalist Trevor Trotman. Billy has been having trouble with certain items he acquires from a mystery man, including pancake mixture that gives his whole class hiccups, a flying bike, and a strange watch. Billy and Trevor soon discover the perpetrator is the same person, who appears every time Billy reads a certain book.
Directed by Andrew Davies, Billy Webb's Amazing Story leans on a strong ensemble — Scott Riley, Mike Walling, Fleur Taylor — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The series landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about family titles of 1991.
