Bumatih is a miserly, greedy father, lover of interests. His main concern is access to money in any way. Bumatih’s family and those around him are affected by his bad nature. We see some of his family support him and others who want to be freed from him, in addition to some social problems that occur between Bumatih, his neighbors, his only sister and her husband.
Directed by Tareq Othman, The Harmful leans on a strong ensemble — Ghanem Al-Saleh, Abdullrahman Al-Aqel, Mohammed Jaber — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The series landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1999.
