Christmas is in full swing at the home of the wayward old man Pettson and his mischievous cat Findus. Gingerbread cookies need to be baked, the tree needs to be cut down, Christmas presents need to be made and the Christmas cleaning needs to be done. But can there be any Christmas if you're not sure if Santa is coming?

Directed by Sven Nordqvist, Tomtemaskinen leans on a strong ensemble — Ika Nord, Ingvar Hirdwall, Birgit Hageby — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The series landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about kids titles of 1993.
