Buurtwag

A South African television sitcom as an adaptation of the 2012 feature film Die Buurtwag, which tells the story of a young couple who find themselves crossing paths with an overly dramatic neighborhood watch, having recently relocated to the Cape from Gauteng.

Directed by Beer Adriaanse, Jaco Smit, Buurtwag leans on a strong ensemble — Albert Pretorius, Beáte Opperman, Adam Heyns — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The series landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2015.
