About Debusen
Mitsuru Fukushima stumbles on the skeleton of a woman named Mitsuko who looks like him. He assumes her identity, and goes to the school where she was scheduled to start work as a teacher. His students are tough as nails, but another new teacher, Keiko, claims to recognize him(her), and convinces him to persevere in this new job.
Directed by Kazuhiko Ban, Debusen leans on a strong ensemble — Kanro Morita, Reimi Osawa, Kunito Watanabe — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The series landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2016.
