About Al Thuraya
Akkash is a nationalist resistance fighter against Ottoman rule in Syria. Thuraya, the daughter of the wealthy Turkish aristocrat Ismail Pasha, falls in love with him, and he loves her in return. Determined to be with him, she is willing to sacrifice everything, including her family and privileged position in society.
Directed by نهاد سيريس, Al Thuraya leans on a strong ensemble — Jamal Soleiman, Suzan Najm Aldeen, Khaled Taja — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The series landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1998.
