El vuelo del águila is a Mexican historical telenovela produced by Ernesto Alonso and Carlos Sotomayor for Televisa and originally broadcast on Canal de las Estrellas from July 4, 1994, to January 20, 1995. Created by Enrique Krauze and Fausto Zerón-Medina, the telenovela chronicles the life of General and President Porfirio Díaz, depicting the political, military, and social events that shaped Mexico during the Porfiriato. The story follows Porfirio Díaz from his early years as a military hero during the Reform War and the French Intervention to his rise to the presidency and his more than three decades in power. Through historical events, political rivalries, and personal relationships, the telenovela explores the achievements, controversies, and eventual downfall of one of the most influential figures in Mexican history.
Directed by Enrique Krauze, Fausto Zerón-Medina, El vuelo del águila leans on a strong ensemble — Manuel Ojeda, Jacqueline Andere, Ernesto Gómez Cruz — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The series landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1994.

It stars Rebecca Jones, Rene Strickler, Alejandro Camacho, Alejandra Barros, and Africa Zavala. The Mexican version however is taken from the original Colombian soap opera series "El Último Matrimonio Feliz". The story is about six women who befriend each other and help each other deal with the pains of life, particularly in regards to marriage and relationships. They'll realize that even amidst their problems, happiness is not impossible to attain.
It won seven Premios TVyNovelas awards for Best Telenovela of the Year, Best Male Villain, Best First Actress, Best First Actor, Best Co-Star Actress, Best Co-Star Actor, and Best Young Lead Actor. Para Volver a Amar aired in the United States on Univision from March 8, 2011 to October 28, 2011 at 12am/11pm central.
