Andrey Boyko is a brilliant artist and an equally brilliant con man. His schemes are inventive, and his paintings—although copies—are so masterfully executed that they are almost impossible to distinguish from the originals. After stealing a Chagall painting from gangster Viktor Maurin, Andrey sells it to an underground collector for one million dollars while pretending to act on Maurin’s behalf. Soon, both the criminals and the police launch a manhunt for the elusive swindler. The only problem is that nobody knows what Boyko actually looks like. Disguised as an elderly detective named Levandivska, Andrey infiltrates a police station to stay one step ahead of his pursuers. There, he meets Katya, a young trainee, and unexpectedly falls deeply in love with her.
