In a tree stump in the middle of the Great Forest live Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and their elf children, who work together to carry out the many tasks needed before Christmas. The elves are sent out across Sweden as flying reporters to collect children's wish lists and report on how Christmas is being prepared in different parts of the country.
Directed by Bo Billtén, Tomtefamiljen i Storskogen leans on a strong ensemble — Gunnel Nilsson, Börje Pearson, Christer Borglin — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The series landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about kids titles of 1962.
