About The Copycat Criminal
Based on the novel "Mohouhan" by Miyuki Miyabe. Journalist Maebata Shigeko, young Tsukada Shinichi and elderly Arima Yoshio all suffer from and become involved in a serial kidnap and murder case. Shinichi first discovers a cut arm and handbag from the murder case. Elderly Yoshio's granddaughter is a murder victim.
Directed by Miyuki Miyabe, The Copycat Criminal leans on a strong ensemble — Miki Nakatani, Tatsuomi Hamada, Isao Hashizume — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The series landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about crime titles of 2016.
