The creators of 8th & Ocean are also responsible for Laguna Beach, a show also airing on MTV. The theme song for the show is "Beautiful Love" by the Christian rock band The Afters.
Directed by Liz Gateley, 8th & Ocean leans on a strong ensemble — Kelly Aldridge, Sean Poolman — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The series landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about reality titles of 2006.
