Felix Hechinger, head doorman at the Hotel Excelsior, has a soft spot for people and therefore believes that hotel guests shouldn’t be left to fend for themselves. To play the role of fate imperceptibly and gently—that is what Hechinger aims to do, even if he does not always receive thanks and his interventions in other people’s affairs sometimes turn out to be missteps.
