The puppy love of two teenagers is set against a backdrop of adults struggling with their own lives. As a couple in love, they don't care about anything but themselves and seem totally unaware about everything that surrounds them.

Shows what happens on a completely ordinary day in the year 2000 in Kronoberg. We enter the plot in the middle of a local news broadcast about a flood disaster. There is practically an emergency situation in the area.

There is also a youth motorcycle gang terrorising the local girls but Christer doesn't dare to stand up to them, leading to his humiliation. One day he comes into contact with a professional speedway racer who takes him under his wing.

A girl of 14 is embarrassing her foster parents. She exposes herself to a homeless and police. It turns out that the girl has had sex with various men in exchange for a little kindness and chocolate. At fornication trial she has to face the city's municipal chief, who also has abused the girl.

"It's with me he's been" - Li and Hans are colleagues at an advertising agency. Even though Hans is married, they start a relationship. Li hopes that Hans will tell his wife the truth about them and leave her for Li.

Set on the island of Ven in the 1920s, Ellen is engaged with Per the sailor and waits for him while he is away at sea. The sisters Britta and Ellinor live with their grandfather, music professor Libergius, teacher and leader of the city's orchestra association. In the city there is also a youthful jazz band - to the professor's horror.
