Crime Inspector Maria Wern returns to duty at the Police Department on the island of Gotland, and is immediately thrown into a murder investigation.

A couple of brutal and mysterious murders point to Uppsala University. Johan, a last year student at the police academy, gets involved in the investigation. He enrolls a course at the University in order to, under cover, track down the killer.

André moves to Lycksele, a small town in the north of Sweden, he wants to be alone. Instead he meets Sanna and finds love. But it seems almost impossible to connect with André.
