The Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards (Chinese: 台北金馬影展; pinyin: Táiběi Jīnmǎ Yǐngzhǎn; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tâi-pak Kim-má iáⁿ-tián) is a film festival and awards ceremony held annually in Taiwan. It was founded in 1962 by the Government Information Office of the Republic of China (ROC) in Taiwan. A young Taiwanese man after being released from prison starts his life as a gangster. He goes to Hong Kong to do some business with the Triads.

The Lung (Dragon) triad used to be one of Hong Kong's most powerful crime families, but its power has waned in recent years. The crime boss Lung Ying feels that their involvement in drug trafficking has resulted in costs that far outweigh the benefits, and he considers investing his wealth into relatively safe and legal industries. His second-in-command White Wolf and his frequent collaborator Tsui disagree with his anti-drug policies, and they plot to take over the triad.
