At Theater tonight is a TV show broadcasted from 25th August 1966 to 21st September 1985. The show is broadcast plays recorded in two or three days, during public performances at the Théâtre Marigny on the Champs-Élysées, or sometimes Edouard VII theater.

Manuel, a landowner in Jamaica, arrives in Paris on vacation. There he meets Olivia, a Spanish popular singer and falls in love. Olivia leaves Paris to play in a casino of the Riviera and Manuel follows her there. Maxime lives in Cannes, uncle of Olivia, a trickster who poses as a magician and has great influence on Annie, an eccentric billionaire. At the same time, Simeon, Annie's secretary tries to bribe the magician to influence Annie to accept to marry him, but as Maxime also wants to marry her, Simeon uses the services of a private detective. Manuel receives a telegram asking him to return to Jamaica. So, Annie proposes them a cruise aboard his yacht and invites Olivia.

Léo and Claude, two penniless friends turned con artists, answer matrimonial classified ads to trap women. But one of the friends soon finds his own game turned against him.

A trio of seedy gangsters, Gigi, Totor and Jo, manage to snatch a suitcase of diamonds, which they promptly lose. The precious luggage is recovered by Ernest Mamourette, a distracted salesman. The police suspect him of being behind the hold-up and the safe. Gigi reappears under the identity of a certain Countess Olga and expresses her desire to marry Mamourette, who is released from prison, and is drawn into a burglary at the home of the real Countess, who, on the point of committing suicide, is reunited with Ernest, her beloved husband, whom she thought had disappeared.

Piedalu is an ordinary villager, who comes to the capital to present his financial plan to the Minister of Renovation, and finds it difficult to find someone to listen to him. He meets an actress in Paris, whom he takes for a girl from his country.

Stéphane Petitbourgeois is having trouble with his son-in-law Hubert, who has an extra child every year and is expecting his ninth, making thirteen people in the same apartment. However, a competition promises twenty million to the youngest grandfather of twelve grandchildren. Stéphane begins to encourage Hubert. But Pat became sterile from that day on. Finally, after two years, a child is announced. In fact, triplets were born, and after a few twists and turns, Stéphane became the youngest grandfather of twelve grandchildren.

The manager of a firm has a very unusual idea : asking his employees to pose as gangsters and to hold up a bank before returning the stolen money and pocketing the reward. Rejecting the union of her daughter Brigitte with a modest worker, Madame Magnin invents an adultery for the lover, then introduces Brigitte to a good-looking man working on the famous RTF entertainment show 36 Chandelles. The show ultimately seals the reunion of the two estranged young lovers. The story features a parade of music-hall stars from the era: Charles Trenet, Charles Aznavour, Georges Guétary, Juliette Gréco, Roger Pierre and Jean-Marc Thibault, Fernand Raynaud, Georges Ulmer and many more.

Two ambitious parents decide to change their name for a foreign patronymic so that their young son Edmond can win fame easier. He's a eleven-year-old orchestra conductor.

Smalltown confectioner Lespinasse, hopeful of being reelected as chief councillor, is opposed by Darcepoil, the local druggist. Darcepoil arranges for the incumbent's defeat by having Pantaflon, a nightclub singer, lure him to the nudist camp on the Isle of Levant, where Lespinasse is photographed surrounded by half-naked women. At home, he is berated by his wife and thrown out of office; but he returns to Levant with the penitent Pantaflon and is welcomed by the nudists and voted camp president. His forgiving wife follows him and herself becomes a nudist.

Mario, a star ladies' hairdresser, has Nicolas as a friend and Gisèle as his mistress, who is coveted by Nicolas. To boost the salon's finances, Nicolas takes advantage of a billionaire, Madame Alvarez, by selling her a pseudo-rejuvenation serum invented by Mario. Mario suddenly falls in love with a provincial girl, Gabrielle, and pursues her to the South of France, where everyone meets up to finish the film in song.

Philémon De Montfilet came first in his year in the prestigious engineering school "Poly Art Technique" because of an epidemic which brought all the other examination candidates down.

Three sketches that all start in the police station, where Léa, La Pintade and the brigadier himself tell their little stories. The story of Danielle, who bamboozled the impresario Mortimer so well that he made her his wife; the story of the sad little Simon, deprived of a father and unable to stand the mockery of his friends; and the story of the daughter of an ex-convict who - by golly - steals a statue on the day of her First Communion.

Just as she is about to marry Jules, Nénette realizes that an adventuress has borrowed her identity in order to marry Hubert de Mont-Vermeil. But at the same time, a cardinal arrives, and the truth must be kept from him. Nénette passes for Hubert's wife, and the cardinal spends his time reconciling the pseudo-spouses. After many misunderstandings, Hubert and Nénette discover that they love each other, while Jules marries the pretty soubrette, not without first inoculating Hubert's virtuous aunt with his taste for racing.
