After writing for Cahiers du cinéma, young Godard decides making films is the best film criticism. He gets Beauregard to fund a low-budget feature, creating a treatment with Truffaut about a gangster couple.

Greg is a police lieutenant; he must collect informations on eco-activists, infiltrating them for months. Myriam, a young free woman, is fighting to save a forest from the building of a dam. Lina doesn't pay much attention to it, especially as she can't see any signs of him corroborating this reputation, but those around her keep asking her questions...

Sophie is far from being the model little girl one would like her to be, unlike her friends Camille and Madeleine. She always insists on having her own way, often getting into trouble, to the despair of one and all. But her mother is unbending and otherwise inclined. She will not let her get away with anything, and poor Sophie will often have to live with the consequences of her bad behaviour and learn her lesson.

If we regard wandering as a way of inhabiting a place without claiming ownership or blending into it—a notion still open to question—the inner movement within this wandering, which sometimes feels like stillness, indeed traces an irreversible line toward a gradual dispossession of self. Dispossession in all its forms, yet primarily there is the issue of language. In the short film Le Livre laissé blanc, we explore the protagonist’s conscious journey as she confronts her loss of language within the inner landscape of her wandering. She attempts to remember her lost language or, alternatively, to make the language of the Other her own.
