An aspiring author looking to get more out of life takes up a writing residency and finds herself in the sort of romantic entanglements that could come from the pages of a Jane Austen novel.

Anne is exceptionally unexceptional. She has a nice job, a nice apartment, and a wonderful therapist. But when she notices disturbing events in her apartment, she begins to think that maybe she’s not quite living that exceptionally unexceptional life she thought she was.

In this intimate, experimental drama, a young woman is prey to the denial of the grief of her mother, a painting restorer. Jade runs herself a bath. Here begins a journey between paint and water during which Jade vacillates between dream and daily reality. Water will immerse us in its internal conflicts between conscious, subconscious and unconscious.

Lu, a Chinese immigrant, lives with his French boyfriend Christophe in Paris. During the election, Lu discovers that his boyfriend is going to vote for a candidate who opposes immigration.
