A featherweight bout between The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America featherweight winner Yair Rodríguez and Alex Caceres served as the event headliner.

UFC Fight Night 143: Cejudo vs. Dillashaw was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that was held on January 19, 2019, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. A UFC Flyweight Championship bout between 2008 Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling and current champion Henry Cejudo and current two-time UFC Bantamweight Champion T.J. Dillashaw headlined this event.

UFC Fight Night 83: Cowboy vs. Cowboy was a mixed martial arts event held on February 21, 2016, at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The event was headlined by a welterweight bout between former UFC Lightweight Championship challenger Donald Cerrone and Alex Oliveira.

UFC 180: Werdum vs. Hunt was a mixed martial arts event held on November 15, 2014 at Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, Mexico.

UFC Fight Night 133: dos Santos vs. Ivanov was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that was held on July 14, 2018 at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho, United States. A heavyweight bout between former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos and former WSOF Heavyweight Champion Blagoy Ivanov served as the event headliner.

The event was expected to be headlined by a 145 lbs UFC Featherweight Championship bout between current champion José Aldo and top contender Conor McGregor. Aldo pulled out of the bout and a interim championship bout between Chad Mendes and McGregor took place at this event. The UFC received official medical confirmation from several doctors that Aldo did not have a broken rib as he claimed and the biggest problem was the weight cutting process being complicated by the injury. This was confirmed when a release of an Xray tied to an old injury was released by Aldo's camp. UFC 171: Hendricks vs. Lawler was a mixed martial arts event held on March 15, 2014 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

UFC on Fox 12: Lawler vs. Brown was a mixed martial arts event held on July 26, 2014, at SAP Center in San Jose, California. The event was headlined by a welterweight bout between Matt Brown and Robbie Lawler. UFC president Dana White subsequently announced that the winner of the main event would receive a title shot against UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks.

UFC on Fox 27: Jacaré vs. Brunson 2 was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship held on January 27, 2018, at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. A middleweight rematch between former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Ronaldo Souza and Derek Brunson served as the event headliner. The pairing met previously in August 2012 under the Strikeforce banner with Souza winning the fight via knockout in the first round.

UFC on Fox 3: Diaz vs. Miller was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on May 5, 2012 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on December 3, 2011 at the Palms Casino Resort in Paradise, Nevada, United States. The event featured the finalists from The Ultimate Fighter 14 – Team Bisping vs Team Mayhem in the Featherweight and Bantamweight divisions.
