An experimental collage creating an alternative narrative to the storylines in the animations, documentaries and feature films of that time period.
Directed by Johannes Lõhmus, Sten Haljak, Madwomen: to be a sparrow not a canary leans on a strong ensemble — Ada Lundver, Aino Seep, Ene Rämmeld — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2023.
