About Hitori Kakurenbo: The Movie - Real Urban Legend
Sakura Kurata and Kosuke Tsukamoto are members of the movie club at their high school. They then organize a movie shoot which which revolves around the urban legend and occult game "hide-and-seek alone". The game involves a ritual with a doll to contact the dead. The students persuade a teacher to allow them to shoot the movie at midnight in the school. The students begin their film, but they soon experience a lot more than they expected.
Directed by Yasutake Torii, Hitori Kakurenbo: The Movie - Real Urban Legend leans on a strong ensemble — Taiyo Ayukawa, Yasuhiko Hashikura, Momoko Kaechi — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about horror titles of 2012.
